Merit Records is a family owned and operated company, allowing them to maintain a strong friendship and working relationship with each of their clients. Merit's founder, Larry Shetter, runs the company along with his son Charles.
Larry started Merit Records Service in the summer of 1989 after 14 years of court reporting in Fort Worth. Prior to that Larry was a court reporter in the 18th Judicial District Court serving Johnson and Somervell Counties for 5 years. Since 1975 Larry Shetter has been a strong supporter of the Tarrant County legal community. He has supported the Tarrant County Bar Association as well as the Annual Bench Bar Conference of Tarrant County for a number of years and served on the Grievance Committee for the State Bar of Texas for three years. Larry is held in high regard around the legal community and his knowledge and expertise in providing litigation support is unmatched. He is willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy each and every one of his clients.
Charles Shetter has been working with his father for the better part of his life. He started working for his father during high school and continued his apprenticeship with Merit throughout his college career, graduating from Texas Wesleyan University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduating Charles began to work full time with his father and dedicated himself to gaining the knowledge and confidence it takes to be successful in this business. Larry made Charles a partner in June of 2001 upon realizing that Charles shared his ambition and dedication to making Merit the best in the business.
Both Larry and Charles are determined to provide the legal community with a quality of service that is second to none.
